Tasty inspiration served at Kingston Vale care home

A care home in Kingston Vale is dishing out a dose of healthy inspiration to those looking to find out more about nutrition and hydration in later life.

On Thursday 23^rd January, from 6pm-7.30pm, Care UK’s Sherwood Grange, on Robin Hood Lane, will welcome Dr Katerina Belogianni to lead the free event on the importance of staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet in older age.

From hints and tips for preparing nutritious meals for a loved one at home, to understanding the importance of incorporating all the senses at meal times, the full interactive session will include food tasting throughout and a free ‘Eating as we age’ guide for more top tips on nutrition and hydration.

Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “Here at Sherwood Grange, providing healthy, nutritious and well-balanced meals for older people is of paramount importance. We pride ourselves on being able to cater for different dietary requirements and needs, as well as ensuring that residents are still able to enjoy their favourite dishes.

“The aim of this free event is to provide the people of Kingston Vale with support and the opportunity to find out more about the importance of balanced eating in later life. After the event we will also be celebrating our outstanding CQC with a small party. We look forward to welcoming the local community.”
