Hythe care home thanks local community for their support in heart-warming video

Hythe care home thanks local community for their support in heart-warming videoA care home in Hythe has thanked those who have gone the extra mile to support residents throughout the coronavirus pandemic, from the members of the community to its dedicated team members.

Unable to say thank you in person yet, residents and team members at Care UK’s Carpathia Grange, on Southampton Road, have sent out a virtual thank you, to express their gratitude for the consideration and generosity shown by the people of Hythe over the past couple of months.

From volunteering, to delivering messages and artwork to brighten everyone’s day, individuals and organisations have pulled together to support the older members of the community, and Care UK homes across the country have been overwhelmed by the kind gestures of local people.

Carpathia Grange was inundated with support, receiving headbands from the Sew for Southampton to help make team members’ masks more comfortable and treats from their local Domino’s branch for the home. Local pupils have written touching poems for the residents, and everyone was thrilled when a surprise visit from an ice cream van was arranged by a resident’s family.Whether it’s baking for a resident’s birthday, keeping the morale up through creative activities, team members at Carpathia Grange have also been praised for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts over the past few months.

Ray Arnold, home manager at Carpathia Grange, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past couple of months, whether that be through volunteering, sending tokens of appreciation, putting pen to paper for residents or treating everyone to ice cream.

“Every single thought, message and gesture has helped to raise the spirits of our fantastic team and has brightened the days of residents missing their families. It really has kept everyone going.

“On behalf of everyone at Carpathia Grange, thank you so much.”

The new three-storey care home which opened at the end of 2019, provides residential, dementia and nursing care and features 62 ensuite bedrooms, designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home also incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
