Care home search for Maidstone’s local heroes extended

Home news

Care home search for Maidstone’s local heroes extendedA new care home in Maidstone has extended its search for local heroes in the community, giving them a chance to win a £500 cash prize.

Care UK’s Invicta Court, on Gidd's Pond Way, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family, and have a positive impact on the local area.

The winner of the competition will receive £500, with a further £200 up for grabs for the second place, and £100 for third. Initially set for June, the deadline was extended to give local people the opportunity to nominate their ‘lockdown heroes’.

Jacqui Pompeus, home manager at Invicta Court, said: “We know just how challenging the last few months have been, yet it brought the best out of local people and reminded us of the importance of a strong and united community. There has been a tremendous number of acts of kindness throughout the pandemic, so we’ve decided to extend our search for local heroes to say thank you to all of those who went above and beyond during lockdown especially.

“Whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity who helped making PPE for key workers, a community group that really makes a difference to the area, or simply someone who goes that extra mile for others – share your story with us so we can reward them with the treat they deserve.”

To nominate your ‘local hero’, visit https://www.careuk.com/care-homes/invicta-court-weavering/local-heroes before 5pm on Friday 30th October 2020 and explain in 100-400 words why they deserve to be rewarded.

The new care home offers a full range of older people’s care services in hotel-style surroundings, including a café, hair and beauty salon, bar and cinema. The highly trained, professional team delivers permanent and short-term nursing and residential care, as well as dementia care and end of life care for up to 75 older people.
