Southmead care home gets involved in tree-mendous fundraising initiative

‘Tis the season for giving and a Southmead care home has been getting dressed up for a good cause.

Care UK’s Trymview Hall, on Southmead Road, hosted their very own Elf Day celebrations and raised over £100 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Southmead care home gets involved in tree-mendous fundraising initiativeAs part of their event, residents and team members at Trymview Hall dressed up as elves and took part in a variety of activities, including elf making and ‘elfies’. The home also hosted a Christmas cookies sale and a raffle.

Elf Day is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which takes place every year in December. Participants are encouraged to dress up and raise funds through a variety of activities, from bake sales and raffles to games and quizzes.

Pamela Arnsmeyer, Home Manager at Trymview Hall, said: “The Alzheimer’s Society is a cause close to the hearts of everyone here at Trymview Hall, and Elf Day gave us the perfect opportunity show our support, while taking part in some festive fun.

“The Alzheimer’s Society’s work is absolutely vital, from the support it provides to families affected by the condition, to its ‘Dementia Friends’ initiative, which aims to raise awareness and help people understand what it’s like living with dementia. We’re thrilled to be able to support them thanks to the funds we raised as part of our event.

“Everyone at the home had a great time, and it was all for a good cause, so we’re already looking forward to getting involved again next year!”

The new care home provides full-time residential and dementia care, with 66 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
