Southmead care home helps prevent fraud in the community with free advice event

A new care home in Southmead is inviting the local community to a free online event for those wanting to find out more about keeping themselves or a loved one safe while living at home.

On Tuesday 9th February, from 2.30pm-3.30pm, the Care UK team at Trymview Hall, on Southmead Road, will host a free ‘Fraud Prevention’ online event.

Independent specialist, Ryan Taylor from NatWest, will be on hand to deliver an informative session on how to stay safe online. He will also offer expert information on fraud safety and reporting a scam.

After the event there will be a helpful Q&A session and an opportunity to take a virtual tour of Trymview Hall.

Home Manager at Trymview Hall, Pamela Arnsmeyer, said: “Here at Trymview Hall, we understand that providing advice and guidance on the importance of staying safe on the internet and at home can be incredibly helpful for everyone, but especially for older people, as they are often targeted by scams and cold calling.

“Many criminals are taking advantage of the pandemic to prey on people’s financial worries, so we are lucky to have Ryan joining us. He can provide professional guidance in this area, and we hope local people will take the opportunity to benefit from his expertise.”

For anyone unsure about how to take part in the virtual event, help is at hand. The team at Trymview Hall will host the event using Zoom, an online meeting space. Simply call or email Customer Relations Manager, Evonne Burch, and she will send a link to join the event and share her tips to make the most out of the session.

Trymview Hall provides full-time residential and dementia care, with 66 ensuite bedrooms, and has been designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The care home will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.

To book a place at the event or to arrange a private viewing appointment, email Customer Relations Manager, Evonne Burch, on evonne.burch@careuk.com or call 0333 321 8351.
