Blooming amazing – local care home crowned second best in Anglia in Bloom

A Bury St Edmunds care home is celebrating after seeing success at Anglia in Bloom.

Care UK’s Glastonbury Court, on Glastonbury Road, was thrilled to be named second best in the region in the prestigious flower competition, securing the silver award for their incredible gardens.

The win follows Glastonbury Court’s impressive success at Bury in Bloom, where they won gold for the second year in a row, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the home’s lifestyle and maintenance teams.

The residents of Glastonbury Court also played a big part in the win, with those involved in the home’s gardening club helping to choose and plant the flowers, as well as supporting with maintenance and creating floral arrangements.

Trudy Jennings, Lifestyle Lead at Glastonbury Court, said: “I’m so proud of the team and residents, it’s all thanks to their efforts that we won. The residents especially are over the moon – they love spending time in the garden, enjoying the nature and tending to the plants, so to see this pastime become a winning feature is wonderful.”
