Special guest helps to open newly refurbished care home

Home news

A local care home has been officially re-launched by the Mayor of East Grinstead, after a recent renovation which included a new cinema, bar and café.

Residents, team members, and the local community joined the Mayor at Care UK’s state-of-the-art Mill View, on Sunnyside Close, for the home’s special celebration.

Residents and guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapes, and there was plenty of time to enjoy a glass or two of something fizzy while taking in live music from a local singer named Grace. The celebration saw the Mayor, Councillor Adam Peacock, cut the ribbon to officially re-open the care home.

There were fun activities following the official proceedings, including a taster session from Mill View’s Head Chef and everyone met the friendly therapy dog from Canine Concern.

The renovation included the redecoration of lounges and kitchens on the nursing and dementia suites, as well as brand-new cinema, bar and café on our ground floor.

Councillor Peacock said: “I was delighted to officially re-open Mill View after their renovation. It was wonderful to see residents, team members, family, and locals all participating in the festivities. It was certainly a memorable day.”

Trish Banks, Home Manager at Mill View, said: “Our grand launch party was a wonderful success and the perfect way to mark such an important moment for Mill View. We are extremely proud of the refurbishment and environment we have created here. Every single detail has been carefully considered to create a high-quality, luxury care home which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives.

“I would like to say a special thank you to residents and their families who have been so patient and accommodating during the works.

“We were delighted to welcome Councillor Peacock to help us officially re-open the home, and it was fantastic to see everyone joining in the fun. It was truly a day to remember.”
