Buckinghamshire care home celebrates tenth birthday with a special guest

A care home in Buckinghamshire has celebrated its tenth anniversary in style with the local Mayor.

The team at Care UK’s Maids Moreton Hall, on Church Street, pulled out all the stops for a special birthday celebration, ten years after it welcomed its very first residents. 

To mark the occasion, Mayor of Buckingham, Councillor Margaret Gateley, joined residents, relatives, friends of the home, and team members for an afternoon tea party, prepared by the home’s Head Chef and his team, which included an impressive ‘10’ cake, cupcakes and a delicious buffet . 

After meeting and greeting each of the residents, the Mayor and fellow partygoers enjoyed singing happy birthday and toasting the home’s milestone.

Team members had decorated the home with banners, garlands and balloons, and there was entertainment from Amanda Jones, a local performer, who got everyone dancing.

Ioana Almasan, General Manager at Maids Moreton Hall, said: “It was wonderful to see residents celebrating and toasting the special milestone, and to have the Mayor of Buckingham join us for our party really was the cherry on the birthday cake!  

 “The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes Maids Moreton Hall an amazing place to call home, and for helping to make the day extra special.   

“It’s certainly been a busy ten years! We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a homely environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Maids Moreton Hall.”

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Maids Moreton incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the home has been configured to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
