Bon Appétit! Local community invited for a taste of life at a Bristol care home

Home news

A care home in Bristol is inviting the community along to a special culinary showcase.

On Friday 29th September, from 2pm-4pm, Care UK’s Trymview Hall on Southmead Road is hosting a culinary masterclass with the home’s talented head chef, Darren Nelson – a finalist in this year’s National Association of Care Catering (NACC) Awards.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about how the home’s catering team uses fresh, seasonal produce to create delicious dishes tailored to the individual preferences and requirements of residents. Darren will share the importance of nutrition for residents, both in terms of keeping physically healthy, but also through promoting mental wellbeing with home-made comfort foods and childhood-favourite snacks.

The informative session will also teach attendees the tips and tricks to create tasty meals with zero waste, as well as offering the chance to enjoy some of the delicious food on offer at Trymview Hall.

Nicole Anderson, Home Manager at Trymview Hall, said: “We’re delighted to be inviting the community to this exciting event which gives local people a taste (pardon the pun!) of life here at Trymview Hall.

“Darren is a fantastic chef and the entire catering team work hard to ensure residents finish every day with feeling satisfied. It’s incredibly important that residents are able to continue enjoying the food they love, which is why the team work so closely with each and every individual to make sure the menus are tailored based on their likes, dislikes and dietary needs.

“We’d encourage anyone keen to know more about the delicious meals on offer here at Trymview Hall – or those looking for some new recipes and tips – to come along for what we’re sure will be a fantastic afternoon!”

Trymview Hall is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care. The care home incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, hair salon and café.
