Stratford-upon-Avon care home hosts community support group

A care home in Stratford-upon-Avon is inviting the local community to its monthly community-friendly support group – with an active twist.

On Thursday 19^th October, from 10am-12pm, Care UK’s Ambleside, on Evesham Road, is opening its doors to the community for its monthly Community Café, which is hosted on the third Thursday of each month and is designed to help local people caring for an older loved one.

On the day, members of the lifestyle team will be working up a sweat when they host a special ‘Music and Movement’ morning session, which will include seated exercise activities to encourage residents and visitors to get up and be active while trying something new.

The Community Café events are dementia-friendly and aim to provide support for family carers in the community, as well as the chance to meet like-minded people, share experiences, and access guidance. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for individuals caring for a loved one to bring them along and meet others in a similar position and form support networks, enjoy a talk or activity, while enjoying coffee and slice of cake in a welcoming environment.

Charlotte Levin, Home Manager at Ambleside, said: “Here at Ambleside, we strive to create a sense of belonging within the home and our wider community, aiming to provide a positive impact on local people by building support systems for our neighbours. We want to create a cheerful environment at our Community Café where everyone will feel comfortable, be able to relax and enjoy themselves. 

“We believe that no carer should feel that they are alone, and we’re looking forward to welcoming some new faces for a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake – as well as a sit up or two!” 

Ambleside is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care.
