Care UK shortlisted for four prestigious UK Employee Experience Awards.

Company news

Care UK’s dedication to developing and supporting colleagues has been recognised by the UK Employee Experience Awards, where colleagues have been shortlisted for four awards.

The UK Employee Experience Awards recognise and reward the best employers across all sectors to help raise the bar of global employers’ standards, meaning that Care UK has fought off stiff competition to reach the finals.

Care UK has been shortlisted for the following categories: Best Company to Work For – Large Company and Best Employee Experience Journey.

Victoria Cole, Head of Resourcing, has been tipped for the Rising Star Award, and the fourth nomination praises leadership within Care UK’s HR team.

A dedicated strategy with four key areas of focus for employee engagement impressed the judges. These included:

Our 2023 internal employee satisfaction survey, Over to You, saw 97% of colleagues tell us that they feel proud of the work they do. This survey saw a rise in satisfaction scores, making these our highest figures yet. In addition, our Net Promoter Score for colleagues is 36, which is considered excellent for the sector.

The number of benefits available to colleagues continues to increase, and in the last few years the organisation successfully embedded around 2,300 new colleagues from 26 new homes into the positive and welcoming culture of Care UK.

Care UK’s continued dedication to colleague development programmes, particularly for those in leadership roles. Since 2020, 50% of home manager and 65% of deputy manager vacancies have been filled through internal promotions. Levels of employee engagement and satisfaction continue to improve in a variety of ways, including training and career development – such as the Care-UK-designed deputy home manager and home manager programmes and supporting more than 700 colleagues on apprenticeship schemes.

A focus on colleague communication – within the homes and across Care UK, saw the introduction of the Loop platform in 2023. This social-media-style app means colleagues can connect with one another, share knowledge, and keep up to date with the latest news, development opportunities, perks and benefits

The winners will be announced at the UK Employee Experience Awards ceremony on 23rd May in London.
