A colourful and vibrant celebration has been held at a care home in Wolverhampton to mark LGBTQ+ Pride.
Care UK’s Foxland Grange, on Wergs Road in Tettenhall, was the place to be with rainbow flags and feather boas as residents welcomed drag artist, Anette Curtain, for an afternoon filled with glitz, glamour and laughter.
Accompanying the live entertainment was a range of activities for residents to enjoy, including face painting, singing and dancing, all designed to celebrate the spirit of inclusivity, love, diversity and community.
Katy Anderson, General Manager at Foxland Grange, said: “We had a ball celebrating Pride and flying the rainbow flag.
“At Foxland Grange, we’re dedicated to creating a warm, inclusive environment for everyone. Celebrating Pride is just one of the many ways we show our support for the LGBTQ+ community.
“The energy was infectious and it was incredible to see everyone singing, laughing and enjoying the day. A big thank you to Anette Curtain – she brought the energy and turned the party up to 11! She really got everyone into the Pride spirit!”
Foxland Grange provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care, in a luxury environment. Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, the home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, and has its own café, hair and beauty salon and gardens. The building has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
