Newmarket care home invites community to celebrate harvest festival

A care home in Kennett is hoping to reap what it sows as it makes the final preparations for its harvest festival celebration.

On Saturday 25^th October from 11am to 2pm, Care UK’s Kentford Manor, on Jeddah Way, will welcome local people to join residents and team members for a day of autumn festivities.

Guests can look forward to a harvest festival-themed open day with live entertainment from Just us two, who will play a variety of hits from the 60’s.

There will also be a pumpkin carving competition, apple bobbing and sweet seasonal treats including cider tasting, pastries and toffee apples. Visitors will also be able to tour the home and meet the friendly team.

Julia Forsyth, Customer Relations Manager at Kentford Manor, said: “We’re so excited to be welcoming the community to join us for our harvest festival. 

“Events like these are a wonderful way to bring everyone together, and the residents love being part of the celebrations. They’ve been reminiscing about harvest festivals from their own childhoods and sharing stories about family traditions, so there’s a real sense of anticipation in the home.

“We’re really looking forward to what promises to be a fun and memorable day for all.”

Kentford Manor provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, the home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The building has been configured into a number of suites to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
