A new care home in Driffield is asking the community to nominate local heroes who could be rewarded with a cash prize.
Care UK’s Driffield Manor, on Middle Street, is searching for local people or organisations who go above and beyond for their community, friends or family and have a positive impact on the local area.
The worthy winner of the competition will receive £300 for their local heroism and will be presented with the funds at the care home’s grand launch event on 4th December 2025, where they will be invited as a special VIP guest.
Donna Henderson, Home Manager at Driffield Manor, said: “Everyone has an unsung hero in their life – the person who organises everything, is always there for whoever needs them and never shies away from lending a helping hand.
“Here at Driffield Manor, we want to say thank you to those people who consistently go above and beyond in our local community – whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a leader at a community group or simply a friend who always goes the extra mile.
“We’re inviting locals to share their story, so we can say thank you with a well-deserved treat. We can’t wait to read lots of heart-warming stories!”
Those wishing to nominate a local hero can do so before 11:59pm on Friday 21st November and explaining in 100-400 words why their nominee deserves to be rewarded.
Driffield Manor is a modern care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema and hair salon, bar, bowling green and terraced balconies. There is also plenty of space both in and outdoors for relaxation and recreation.
