Care UK wins prestigious National Care Award

Care UK has won the Care Home Group (Large) award at the National Care Awards in London for the second year in a row.

The award celebrates an outstanding care group with 40 or more care homes, providing evidence of exceptional client care combined with excellent staff development and impressive financial results.

As a sector-leading care provider with over 40 years of experience and more than 170 care homes across the UK, Care UK provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care that enables residents to live fulfilling lives.

2024 was a significant year for Care UK with ongoing growth of the Care UK estate, its teams’ ongoing dedication to high care quality, and supporting colleagues to develop and grow within their roles.

Care UK homes are 100% compliant with the care regulators in Scotland and Wales. In England 93% of homes are rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, with more ‘Outstanding’ rated homes than any other care provider in the country.

Dedication to training and career development is also prioritised by Care UK. Every colleague has the opportunity to learn and grow, and more than 600 colleagues are undertaking apprenticeships in areas ranging from social care to marketing.

Last year’s innovations included the newly implemented careers strategy, Open Doors.  This focuses on work experience and engagement with teenagers and under-represented groups, including internships for those with registered disabilities.

Furthermore, Care UK’s Seacole Academy supports nursing colleagues and Care UK offers in-house Deputy Future Manager, Future Home Manager and Future Regional Director programmes for leadership colleagues.

Andrew Knight, CEO of Care UK said: “It is an honour to be recognised at the National Care Awards for the second year in a row. It is a testament to the importance of the outstanding care quality our colleagues work hard to achieve.

“I am proud of the way our colleagues continue to learn and push boundaries whilst prioritising compassionate care. This dedication to teamwork means colleagues in our homes are exceptionally well placed to support residents to lead fulfilling lives.
