A care home in Norwich is celebrating after its home manager was honoured with a prestigious award.
Pedro Campos, Home Manager at Care UK’s Cavell Court, on Dragonfly Lane in Cringleford, won the Outstanding Leadership Award at the 2025 Norfolk Care Awards.

The accolade celebrates excellence across the care sector, recognising individuals, teams and organisations that go above and beyond to deliver outstanding support. With categories covering residential and nursing care as well as voluntary and community support, the awards highlight best practice and the people making a real difference in residents’ lives.
Pedro began his care journey as a nurse in Portugal before joining Cavell Court in 2015 as a care assistant, before rising through the ranks and being named home manager in 2024 through dedication and hard work.
Pedro said: “I’m incredibly honoured to have received the Outstanding Leadership Award. This recognition means so much because it reflects the hard work, care and passion of the entire Cavell Court team. Every day, we strive to create a home where residents feel valued, supported and truly at the heart of everything we do.”
Pedro was praised by for his creative and innovative approach to care, from facilitating resident wishes through Care UK’s Wishing Tree initiative – such as trips to see Norwich City FC, a day of golf coaching or attending the opera at Norwich Cathedral – to introducing initiatives at the home like a gardening club, which produces herbs, vegetables and other ingredients for the kitchen team.
His guidance has also been recognised by colleagues, with one team member noting: “He understands that leadership is about people, and it is this understanding that has earned him the trust and respect of the entire team as well as the residents and their relatives.”
Jennifer Rodger, Regional Director at Care UK, added: “Pedro is an exceptional leader who embodies Care UK’s values every day. His passion for providing the highest standards of care, alongside his commitment to supporting and inspiring his team, makes him truly deserving of this award.
“I’m incredibly proud of what Pedro and the team at Cavell Court have achieved – their dedication to residents shines through in everything they do.”
In addition, Cavell Court was also shortlisted for the Collaboration in Social Care Award for its ongoing partnership with the National Institute for Health Research and the Applied Research Collaboration East of England at the University of East Anglia. The home is contributing to the OPTIMISED-DEMCARE study, which aims to develop an educational platform to help care staff improve personal care and manage refusals of care for people living with advanced dementia.
Cavell Court is a modern care home that provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the building has its very own cinema, café and hair and beauty salon, and there is plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
