A care home in Angmering has pulled out all the stops to celebrate an important milestone with its neighbours.
Care UK’s Ayton House, on Dappers Lane, welcomed the local community to mark the home's first birthday with an afternoon of music, food and laughter.
To get the party started, Katie Brown, a music graduate from Chichester College, performed a selection of toe-tapping tunes for all generations.

Guests also enjoyed some prosecco and a wide selection of finger foods and desserts crafted by Head Chef Anthony Molnar.
Barbara Caple, a resident at Ayton House, said: “I love the events at Ayton House! The music from Katie created a lively atmosphere, and I am glad we were all able to celebrate together.”
Joel Ignacio, Home Manager at Ayton House, said: “It’s been fantastic to celebrate our first birthday in style with our wonderful community, from the music to the decorations and, of course, the wonderful food.
“It certainly has been a busy first year, and we’re proud of everything we’ve accomplished since our opening, whether that’s making countless wishes come true or hosting community events, such as our Grand Launch party or teaming up with local Brownies to build bird boxes.
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated team for making Ayton House a wonderful place to call home. Hosting community events is our favourite way to connect with the people of Angmering, and the guests made it such a memorable birthday, so we can’t wait to celebrate many more!”
Ayton House is a new state-of-the-art care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The building is designed to enable residents to lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives with its very own cinema, hair salon and pub, along with plenty of space – both indoors and out – for relaxation and recreation.
