A care home team in Leatherhead was named best in the region at a prestigious awards ceremony.
The nursing team at Care UK’s Liberham Lodge, on Rectory Lane in Little Bookham, was announced as the winner for The Surrey Care Awards, in the category ‘The Team of the Year’.

The Surrey Care Awards recognise excellence in care and celebrate fantastic work from individuals and teams who excel in their roles and responsibilities within the care sector and across Surrey.
Judges praised Liberham Lodge’s person-centred approach to care, from individualised care plans to daily activities, all designed to enhance residents’ wellbeing and ensure their needs are met with the highest standards.
Judges were also impressed with the relationships the home had built with health practitioners in the community.
The award is the latest in a string of successes for Liberham Lodge. Earlier this year, the home was awarded the Gold Standard Framework, recognising the highest standard of palliative and end-of-life care, and received its Veteran Friendly Framework accreditation. The latter acknowledges the home’s commitment to understanding and supporting those who have served in the armed forces.
Jagpal Singh, General Manager at Liberham Lodge, said: “We’re delighted to have won the ‘Team of the Year’. It is a true testament to the team's dedication to creating a supportive environment with the highest standard of care.
“The whole team here at Liberham Lodge works incredibly hard to support residents lead fulfilling lives through compassionate, person-centred care, and this award is a wonderful recognition of the team’s commitment. It’s incredibly important to all of us that everyone who visits our home – whether for five minutes or five years – feels safe and supported.
“I'm very pleased with what we accomplish every day, and it's wonderful that everyone's efforts have been recognised.”
Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Liberham Lodge incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities. The layout of the home has been configured to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
