A care home in Stockport is opening its doors to the local community for a day of Christmas cheer.
On Friday 19th December at 2.30pm-4pm, Care UK’s Ladybrook Manor in Bramhall will be kickstarting the festive season with a special 1950s-themed celebration.
Guests will be able to take part in traditional games such as ‘Peel the Stocking’ and ‘The Minister’s Cat’, as well as a festive quiz hosted by the team.
The Dairyground Road home’s choir will also be in attendance to rock around the Christmas tree and fill the building with the sounds of much-loved carols.
There will also be a variety of tasty treats available, specially prepared by Ladybrook Manor’s talented head chef, including mince pies, mulled wine and a spiced punch to keep spirits bright.
To wrap up the celebrations, guests will be transported back to 1957 with a screening of Queen Elizabeth II’s first televised Christmas speech.
Susan Cameron, Home Manager at Ladybrook Manor, said: “We’re all excited to celebrate the festive season in style and mark the end of another fabulous year with the community.
“The residents cannot wait to welcome their loved ones, enjoy a festive tipple and share their favourite traditions and stories.
“From much-loved party games and music to indulgent treats, it promises to be an event to remember. We’d love to see the people of Stockport join us, reflect on the year and share in the Christmas spirit. Don’t forget to wear your best Christmas jumper too!”
Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Ladybrook Manor provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.
The home has its own couple’s suites, café and hair and beauty salon, with the building configured into a series of neighbourhoods to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
