A care home in Stratford-upon-Avon has stepped up a gear for a day of fundraising fun in aid of BBC Children in Need.
Families of residents, the local community and team members at Ambleside care home, on Evesham Road in Dodwell, pedalled their way to success on an exercise bike and raised an impressive £528.30 – smashing their original target of £250.

Participants each completed 5km rides, with the wheels turning from morning until evening.
In line with this year’s Children in Need theme of ‘Challenge Yourself to 25’, the home rode an impressive 250km in a single day around 155 miles.
Resident, Ralph Leech said: “It was a lovely day. It was fun watching everyone ride the bikes and I would have joined in if I could. I can’t even remember the last time I rode a bike. The staff always make a great effort, and it was wonderful to see them raise so much money for such a good cause.”
Charlotte Levin, Home Manager at Ambleside, added: “We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part in our Children in Need fundraiser. It was a real team effort and the atmosphere was fantastic all day long.
“Children in Need supports so many young people and families across the UK, and we wanted to do our part to help make a difference. The challenge gave us a chance to come together, have fun and raise money for a cause that means a lot to so many of us.
“The generosity and enthusiasm shown by everyone at Ambleside have been amazing. We more than doubled our original fundraising target, and we’re so grateful to everyone who pedalled, donated or cheered us on.”
