Market Harborough care home named one of best in region

A care home in Market Harborough has been recognised as one of the best in the East Midlands by the UK’s leading care home review website.

carehome.co.uk celebrates excellence in care with its annual Care Home Awards, and this year has named Care UK’s Oat Hill Mews as one of the top 20 in the region.

The prestigious awards honour homes that have received outstanding reviews from those who matter most: residents, service users and their families and friends. 

With a score of 10 – the highest possible rating – 100% of reviewers for Oat Hill Mews rated the care home as ‘excellent’. 

One review said: “The compassionate care that my relative receives at Oat Hill Mews is exceptional. It is a great comfort to know that she is safe and cared for by the wonderful staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Oat Hill Mews to any family looking for care for their loved one.”

Another review said: “The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped with a lovely en-suite wet room. The food is also good with plenty of choice. Activities are varied and good fun, with something different every day if you want to join in. But the best thing were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all.”

The Leicester Road home is known for its commitment to enabling residents to lead active and fulfilling lives. It provides daily group and one-to-one activities, monthly friendship cafés and a Wishing Tree initiative that encourages residents to put forward their desires to reconnect with a past hobby or try something new.

Its highly skilled team provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
