Care UK celebrates care excellence in West Sussex

Care UK has been shortlisted for three awards at the West Sussex Partners in Care Accolades, with colleagues Diane Pranskuniene, Ian Thompson-Escott and Trevor Holden up for awards.

Diane, Lifestyle Lead at King’s Lodge in Chichester, has been shortlisted for the Ancillary Award after her dedication to person-centred care and passion for varied and engaging activities was recognised.

As the lifestyle lead, Diane delivers excellent activities every single day. She is most proud of her work when she sees the smiley, happy faces of residents taking part games, taking day trips, or even just crafting alongside each other.

She is committed to filling every resident’s life with fun, happiness and meaningful memories, and prides herself on the home’s varied schedule.

Ian, Unit Manager at Skylark House in Horsham, is shortlisted for  the Excellence in Dementia Care Award, as his commitment to delivering outstanding dementia care everyday shines through in his work.

When it comes to dementia care, Ian focuses on understanding the root of distressed behaviour, responding with compassion and promoting non-pharmacological interventions for residents.

He also understands families’ needs as well as residents’ and started regular dementia workshops for relatives, equipping them with practical skills and understanding to better connect with their loved ones.

Trevor from Darlington Court in Rustington was nominated for the Care Worker Award. His dedication to the residents at the home and his ability to consistently deliver compassionate, positive and proactive care is exactly why he has been recognised.

Trevor’s mission is to enhance residents’ quality of life through thoughtful gestures, making sure they feel physically and emotionally supported and valued every single day, whether that is during personal care or activities.

The awards ceremony will take place in Worthing on Thursday 21st May.
