Hertfordshire care home begins exciting new chapter with home manager appointment

A care home in Hertfordshire has announced its new home manager, marking the beginning of a new journey for the home and the residents.

Alin Marcu has taken the helm at Care UK’s Riverside Place in Ware and has already made a positive impression on residents and colleagues alike.

Alin brings with him 10 years of experience, first qualifying as a registered nurse and then further developing his expertise in a variety of leadership roles within the care sector, including a promotion in his previous role to Deputy Clinical Manager at a different care home in 2024. 

Alin commented: “My first few weeks have been wonderful. I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know the residents, their families and the team, which has all been incredibly rewarding. There is a very strong sense of culture and community here and everyone loves what they do.

“I’ve always been passionate about fostering a positive and supportive environment for residents and Care UK share that same sentiment. 

“Joining the home as home manager will allow me to make a bigger impact, not only on the quality of care residents receive, but on the development of the team too - we can all learn a lot from each other.”

Alin has always championed resident wellbeing as a paramount part of his role, delivering care that respects each resident’s dignity and enhances their wellbeing and quality of life. 

Alin added: “I already feel so connected to everyone here at Riverside Place. My favourite part of the day is taking time to speak with residents; they all have such wonderful and interesting stories to share. Whether they’re reminiscing about their younger years or talking about things they still hope to do, like returning to their old place of work, or visiting the grounds of their lifelong football team, no two days are ever the same.”

Riverside Place is a state-of-the-art care home that provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Riverside Place has been designed to enable its residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence. The building incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities and includes its own cinema, café and on-site pub and bar.
