A care home has made a generous donation to help make Driffield a nicer, more colourful place to live.
As part of its commitment to the surrounding community, Care UK’s Driffield Manor presented Driffield in Bloom with £500.

The volunteer-run group is committed to enhancing the town through various floral displays, environmental projects and community events. This includes maintaining hayracks, improving gardens around the railway station and hosting events such as the annual children’s remembrance service.
Barbara Hall, Chairperson of Driffield in Bloom, said: “We were delighted to be awarded a grant of £500 from Driffield Manor towards the floral displays in the town.
“We care for 10 plant-filled hayracks and seven large planters in the centre of the town as well as two large gardens at the railway station and planters and tubs on the station platform. This donation will contribute to additional plants and projects planned for the area.”
Donna Henderson, Home Manager at the Middle Street North care home, said: “We’re thrilled to be helping out Driffield in Bloom with this donation. Supporting the local community is central to our values, and we are delighted to contribute and encourage the group to continue with its vital efforts to make the area a great place to call home.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to show our support to the fantastic groups in the town.”
Driffield Manor is a modern care home providing full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to lead enjoyable and fulfilling lives, it has its very own cinema, hair and beauty salon, bar and bowling green.
