A care home in Kingston Vale has pulled out all the stops to mark a special anniversary.
It was celebration time at Care UK’s Sherwood Grange, on Robin Hood Lane, as residents and team members came together to honour the home’s 10th birthday with a gorgeous garden party.

Residents soaked up the sun and tapped their feet to live entertainment from pianist Kelly Smith and singer Kelly Bennett, surrounded by foliage and a formal dining table setup. They enjoyed delicious canapés followed by confit of duck or king prawns as well as a cocktail list designed specifically for the celebration, specially made by the home’s talented head chef.
Later in the day, everyone took part in casino-style activities such as a game of roulette and poker.
Patrick Doolan, 89, said: “What a wonderful night it was with great food and entertainment. I have only been living here a short time, I feel so happy and tonight was a real highlight.”
Malgo Wcislo, Home Manager at Sherwood Grange, added: “It was a fantastic day celebrating our 10th birthday in the garden, made even more special by the wonderful music and the beautiful decorations.
“It was lovely to get dressed up and see so many smiles and hear so much laughter. Events like this are very important for creating meaningful moments and a real sense of community here.
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated team for making this a wonderful place to call home. This was certainly a birthday to remember!”
Sherwood Grange has been designed to encourage residents to lead active and fulfilling lives while remaining as independent as possible in a safe environment. The home provides full-time residential and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care. It features a cinema, hair and beauty salon and café, and incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies.
