A care home in Knutsford hit all the right notes as it opened its doors for a day of music, food and festival vibes.
The team at Care UK’s Cranford Grange, on Hall Lane in Mobberley, turned up the volume and welcomed the community to ‘Cranfest’, celebrating the Knutsford Music Festival.

Poppy Norbury, the Mobberley Rose Queen, made a special appearance, joining residents and the team to open the event.
Guests were treated to a lively line-up of performances, featuring the Ringheye Morris Dancers and classics from old-time singer Anna ‘The Golden Age Songbird’ Beaumont, in a celebration that also commemorated D-Day.
Toes were tapping to the rhythmic guitar and ukulele sets of duo Small Horse & The Plan, followed by the smooth sounds of saxophonist Sara Sax.
To keep energy levels high, attendees were treated to a variety of food and refreshments prepared by the home’s head chef, including chicken sliders, chorizo kebabs, flapjacks and brownies.
Resident Rhona, 93, said: "I hadn’t danced that much in years; it was incredible. I have never felt so young! What an enjoyable day it was; every entertainer was absolutely brilliant.
I love music and dancing, and having so many different styles and performances all in one day, right here in the community, was a tremendous feat. Well done to all the staff for organising such a marvellous event. We can’t wait for next year’s Cranfest!"
The event also offered the chance for visitors to chat with team members and residents and to take a tour of the award-winning care home, which boasts its own cinema, pub and hair and beauty salon.
Zoe Smart, Home Manager at Cranford Grange, said: “It was a pleasure to see our home buzzing with music, friendship and laughter at this year’s Cranfest. A huge thank you to Poppy Norbury, the Mobberley Rose Queen, for opening the event.
“Events like this are important as they bring the community together and provide opportunities for residents to connect and share their love of music.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the wonderful performers. We are already looking forward to planning our next event!”
Cranford Grange provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. The home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, while the building has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage interaction among the residents.
