A care home in Salisbury has created a real buzz among local students.
Residents at Care UK’s Salisbury Manor, on Shapland Close, teamed up with pupils from Chafyn Godolphin School to mark World Bee Day.

The celebrations got off to a flying start as residents joined the children for an informative session about the incredible world of pollinators, including a look at a real beehive safely displayed behind glass.
Both generations loved discovering the vital role that bees play in our environment and seized the opportunity to ask beekeeper Venetia Couple lots of questions.
Afterwards, children and residents took part in a special arts and crafts session, creating bee-autiful drawings of the striped pollinators.
Mary Ford, a resident at Salisbury Manor, said: “I loved meeting the children. My daughter taught at Chafyn Godolphin School when it was still Chafyn Grove.
“There were some wonderful bee drawings from the budding artists!”
Tracey Pearce, Home Manager at Salisbury Manor, said: “We had a fantastic time celebrating World Bee Day with pupils from Chafyn Godolphin School.
“Many residents at Salisbury Manor are passionate about nature and often reminisce about time spent outdoors during their younger years. They’ve witnessed the many changes our environment has gone through, so it was great to give them an opportunity to share stories while inspiring the next generation to care for nature.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming Chafyn Godolphin School back soon and watching their love of nature flourish!”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Salisbury Manor incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home provides full-time residential care, nursing care, dementia care and respite care. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
