Football fever has officially kicked off at a care home in Wolverhampton as residents went on a pitch-perfect visit to their favourite football club.
Care UK’s Foxland Grange, on Wergs Road in Tettenhall, enjoyed a special visit to the Molineux Stadium, joining the nation in celebrating the huge summer of sport.

Lifelong Wanderers fans Patricia Brookes, Pat Evans, Kathleen Poole, David Barnes and Janet Freshwater went on a private tour of the grounds, allowing them to experience the excitement of being in the stadium again.
As they toured the grounds, the proud Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters swapped memories of attending games with their families when they were younger.
Kathleen fondly recalled first dates with her late husband, Reginald Poole, at the stadium, while David reflected on playing football with friends during his time in the Royal Air Force.
Patricia said: “I remember coming with my brother and watching the games. My brother never missed a game as a season ticket holder.”
Janet added: “I loved visiting the football grounds with my dad - he would put me on his shoulders as we walked through.”
The visit was part of Care UK’s ‘Goal-den Moments' initiative, which aims to bring generations together, encouraging residents to reminisce about cherished football memories and create new memories together
Katy Anderson, Home Manager at Foxland Grange, said: “We know how powerful sport can be in bringing people together, with football in particular holding a special place in the hearts of many residents.
“Patricia, Pat, Kathleen, David and Janet are proud Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters and regularly swap memories of them attending games when younger with each other and the community. This event allowed us to honour these special moments and bring them to life once again.
“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team at Molineux Stadium for making this a day to remember.”
