Care UK colleagues are celebrating after winning two awards at this year’s Leaders in Care Awards.
The awards recognise individuals and teams who go above and beyond to deliver outstanding care and support for residents, relatives and colleagues.

Read the stories of our well-deserving winners below:
Care Kitchen Team of the Year – Belmont House
Belmont House's kitchen team was recognised for its personalised approach to dining and its commitment to ensuring every resident enjoys meals tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
The team gets to know residents from the moment they move into the home, learning everything from favourite childhood dishes to preferred drinks and dietary requirements. Residents are actively involved in shaping menus, frequently providing feedback and taking part in baking activities and themed food events throughout the year.
Working closely with care colleagues, the kitchen team supports residents with a wide range of nutritional needs, including those requiring texture-modified diets. By combining nutrition and creativity, the team helps residents dine with dignity while enjoying meals that are both appealing and nutritious.
Their dedication has earned praise from residents, relatives and colleagues alike, with one relative commenting: "every meal feels thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and plenty of variety. What truly stands out is the kindness of the team."
Registered Manager of the Year – Joel Ignacio, Ayton House
Home Manager Joel Ignacio was recognised for the positive culture he has created at Ayton House since the home's opening in February 2025.
Under Joel's leadership, the home has developed a strong reputation among residents, relatives and the local community. He encourages residents to play an active role in home life, and he empowers colleagues to develop their skills. He also works closely with local organisations to build meaningful community connections.
Joel has introduced several initiatives designed to enhance residents' experiences, including appointing a resident ambassador. He often supports dementia-friendly community projects and helps colleagues access a variety of development opportunities. His approach has led to the home achieving high levels of resident, relative and colleague satisfaction.
Colleagues describe Joel as a leader who invests in those around him, creating opportunities for growth while ensuring residents remain at the heart of every decision.
These awards reflect Care UK’s commitment to delivering high-quality care and creating environments where residents can live fulfilling and rewarding lives.
