A care home in Ely has rolled out the red carpet and hosted its very own fashion show.
Residents and team members at Care UK’s Waterhouse Manor, on Soham Road, walked the runway and strutted their stuff in a special event inspired by London Fashion week, celebrating iconic styles through the ages.

On the day, residents prepared for the upcoming fashion show by watching a documentary on fashion and trends through the decades. The documentary was a hit amongst the residents, sparking conversations and memories of trends they had worn throughout their lives.
During the catwalk, residents and team members modelled their glamorous outfits, paying tribute to fashion through the ages as they strutted down the runway to the soundtrack of classic 60s and 70s hits.
Jean Carter, resident at Waterhouse Manor, said: “It was like a tonic – it was so nice to look back at old styles.”
Monika Gorna-Gal, Home Manager at Waterhouse Manor, said: “We had a fantastic time hosting our very own ‘Waterhouse Manor Fashion Show”.
“We are always looking for new and exciting ways to encourage residents to reminisce about their careers and interests close to them. Fashion is always a popular topic at the home, so we pulled out all the stops to give them a real modelling experience – red carpet included.
“Everyone had such a wonderful day strutting their stuff and talking about iconic fashion looks through the years. We’re already looking forward to our next event!”
Waterhouse Manor is a state-of-the-art care home that provides residential and dementia care on a permanent and respite basis. Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, the care home also offers its very own café, cinema room and hair salon as well as plenty of space for relaxation and recreation.
