Construction has begun on a new multi-million pound care home in High Wycombe – complete with its very own cinema, hair and beauty salon and café.
When finished, the Care UK home on West Wycombe Road will provide full-time residential, dementia and short-term respite care for up to 78 older people and will create 103 jobs.

The home, which is expected to welcome the first residents in summer 2028, will include luxury facilities and en suite rooms alongside a spa bathroom. Secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor spaces will include sensory gardens and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time in the fresh air.
Jake Higgins, Development Project Manager for Care UK, said: “We’re excited that work has commenced at our new High Wycombe location, marking an exciting step towards giving local families access to modern, high-quality care closer to home.
“We’ve thought carefully about every detail – from gardens to social spaces – to help future residents lead active and fulfilling lives. It’s fantastic to see the team on site, and we’re looking forward to bringing this vision to life.”
Ian Kimber, Site Manager at Lawrence Baker, added: “We’re thrilled to be working with Care UK on its new High Wycombe care home, bringing our expertise as a contractor to the project.
“Construction is off to a great start and we’re looking forward to naming our care home in the coming months – with work on track to complete by summer 2028.”
The new Care UK home will incorporate plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies. The layout of the building will be configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
