Angela Christian

As the Home Manager, I take great pleasure in being actively involved in all aspects of our home.

With my nursing background, I understand the significance of delivering the highest quality care possible. I believe it’s essential to involve our residents in creating their care plans, allowing us to provide the support they truly want and need.

My aim is to make a positive impact that resonates with our residents, as even the smallest gestures can make a difference. At our care home, I work closely with both staff and families to ensure we create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. I encourage open communication, and I am always available to listen to residents’ concerns or suggestions.

Witnessing our residents and my team share laughter, smiles, and special moments brings me immense joy and reminds me daily of the meaningful work we do together.

I joined the company as a chef in 2015.  I have progressed through various catering positions and I am am now Head Chef. I enjoy creating delicious, nutritious meals for the residents.  My favorite time is cooking for the many parties that we hold for residents and staff, where my famous biriyani is often requested.

Receptionist

I joined Acacia in July 2022 as the full time receptionist after living in Greece for the previous 18 years. As the first point of contact for the majority of families, visitors and residents, I enjoy making them welcome and assisting them with whatever is required. I have a vast experience in customer-focused roles and HR and use this to enhance my role.  I am happy to assist with other departments when needed.

I joined the company in March 1992 and have carried out many different jobs in my time here, to which I have now come full circle as Head Housekeeper. I enjoy coming to work daily, knowing that I am foremost in providing a clean, hygienic and happy environment for our residents and visitors.  My wealth of knowledge and experience within the company means that I am always available to assist whenever needed.

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
