In our inviting and family-friendly home, residents and their relatives feel equally at ease.
We have strong relationships with residents, their loved ones and the local community. This helps us to maintain a high standard of care at Addington Heights, and to plan engaging, stimulating activities that enable residents to lead rewarding and fulfilling lives.
Keeping busy every day
During the warmer months, many residents enjoy getting out into the gardens to plant seeds and make everywhere look fantastic. Other residents like to help around the home, watering plants or folding laundry.
Our organised group activities include regular reminiscence sessions, gentle exercise classes, arts and crafts and music sessions. We host coffee mornings, karaoke afternoons and movie nights too, and there’s always a big celebration when a resident has a birthday.
We understand that some people prefer one-to-one time, so the Addington Heights lifestyle team makes time to do pamper sessions with individual residents, to do some reminiscence, or to support them to enjoy a shopping trip. Some residents love our floor to ceiling windows and the views across the fields, so we might just sit with them with a cup of tea and have a chat.
Looking and feeling good
We have our own hair salon, and a hairdresser visits regularly to help residents to continue looking their best. Residents can also invite their own preferred stylist in to the home too. We work closely with community healthcare professionals in New Addington and Croydon, including the district nurse, GPs, podiatrists and speech and language therapists. We can arrange for any appointments your loved one needs and accompany them to appointments if you can’t make it.
Those residents who enjoy reading often pop out to stock up on books at the local library. We also run regular church services at the home, and can support residents to attend local places of worship.
