Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one. At Amherst House, our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Cristina Cristea

General Manager

Cristina Cristea

I am a registered general nurse with experience in acute cardiac care and learning disabilities.

I joined the home in October 2016. I am a diabetes and falls prevention champion. I have proven clinical skills and an advanced knowledge which led to me being promoted. I pride myself on being resident focused and ensuring that all individuals we support are empowered to make choices and participate fully in the running of their home. I enjoy spending time bonding with residents and their families, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and happiness are met. I was very proud to be awarded the Champion of Quality Care award in 2019.

Robert Atitiene
Deputy Manager

I am a registered general nurse since January 2015 and have previous experience working with young adults with epilepsy and learning disabilities. I joined the home in February 2017 and I am the nutrition and hydration champion and one of the first aiders here. I was promoted to Deputy Manager and I am dedicated to ensuring all of the residents receive the highest quality of nursing care.

Terri Rowe
Home Admissions Advisor

My background is in sales, training and management. My role prior to joining the Amherst House team was national sales manager for a veterinary company. I made the move to caring for humans rather than animals in 2021, but I wish I’d done it sooner!

It’s incredibly rewarding to help families and potential residents understand the wonderful care and quality of life we provide at Amherst House. Many people who I meet don’t initially see a move into a care home as being an exciting new chapter of life, but it absolutely is! It means new friends, exciting activities and experiences, great support and wonderful food. When families see all of that for themselves the stress just melts away from them. I love that moment.

I enjoy supporting families who are looking for care, but I also look forward to any chance I have to get involved in some of the activities at Amherst House. I don’t mind making a fool of myself if it makes the residents laugh. I also enjoy chatting to the people we care for. They have some amazing stories to tell and there’s always something new to learn about them.

Not only is Amherst House a beautiful care home, it’s run by a team who expect the absolute best for the residents. Every colleague here is hugely proud of the job they do and of the home itself. And every resident is superbly cared for and happy. I look forward to welcoming you to our lovely care home very soon!

Gillian Grove
Activities Lead

I joined in 2019, having had five years' experience in care and as a team leader. I am a dedicated memory care pathway trainer, along with an Ergo coach for Manual Moving and Handling, as well as being an experienced Dignity Champion. I am extremely creative and enjoy introducing new activities to help engage with residents. I have been awarded the Heart and Soul 2018 and Activity Champion 2019 awards.

Julie Groves
Business Administrator

I started working here in February 2014 when the home opened, making me the longest standing team member here. Previous to working at the home, I have over twenty years’ experience in accounts and payroll.

Tracy Seymour
Head Housekeeper

I joined the home in May 2014 as Head Housekeeper. I lead a dedicated housekeeping team who make sure that the highest standards of cleanliness are met at all times. I have vast experience in a similar position from the hotel industry. I was very happy to be awarded Housekeeper of the Year 2017.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.
