A large number of Care UK homes are opening their doors for charity events as part of a nationwide initiative that raised a record breaking £27.6 million last year alone.
The Care UK teams across the country have planned their own unique fund raising events where visitors can enjoy a leisurely cuppa with residents for a small donation to Macmillan.
Amberley Lodge is hosting a charity garden party for the Purley community and Heather View is inviting visitors for an afternoon tea. Mountfitchet House, Foxbridge House and Field Lodge are having fun ‘bake off’ themed events, where residents and visitors will have the chance to vote for the tastiest homemade treat.
Allison Squires, home manager at Mountfitchet House, said: “We are all looking forward to joining the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. This charity event is so simple and yet it gives us a wonderful opportunity to bring together local communities, family and friends for tea, cake and a chat, while raising funds to support the vital services and support provided by Macmillan.”
Macmillan Coffee Mornings are taking place at Care UK homes on Friday 30th September at the following homes; Perry Manor, Winchcombe Place, Elizabeth Lodge, Foxbridge House, The Potteries, Mill View, Mountfitchet House, Bowes House, Darlington Court, Heather View, Colne View, Silversprings, Sherwood Grange, Cavell Court, Kingsfield. Field Lodge’s event will take place on Saturday 1st October.
