Meet our friendly care team

It's the people that make our care home in Falirk the warm and welcoming place it is. Although we all come from different backgrounds and experiences, we work together as a team to ensure residents make the most of every day.

David Currie

Home Manager

David Currie

I have been a qualified learning disability nurse since 1988, but before joining Caledonian Court as Home Manager, I was working as a Regional Support Manager.

I was keen to join Care UK because of its good reputation.

To be a Home Manager, it's important to be logical, organised, honest, and a good communicator, listener and problem solver. It’s also important to have a good clinical skill base and knowledge of legislation and regulations, and to be firm but fair.

The most important part of my role is ensuring we deliver the best possible care for residents. I’m proud to be part of this team continuing to improve Caledonian Court and its outcomes for residents.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, rugby, cycling, travelling, reading, listening to music and chilling with my friends.

Eva Kwiatkowska
Deputy Manager

I started working at Caledonian Court as a bank staff nurse. I’d been a general nurse and worked in endoscopy before moving into working in care homes. When a permanent role came up, I applied and became a Suite Manager, and have progressed from there.

I’ve learnt so much here, including new clinical skills as well as leadership skills. I’ve learnt that, in order to develop, it’s important to be prepared to adapt and reflect on your practice. I love the way working in a care home enables you to get to know the residents. Having come from a surgical background where you don’t get to know patients, it was a refreshing change.

The residents always surprise you, when you talk to them, you’ll learn things about them and see things in them that you haven’t before. I’m looking forward to continue making a difference to their lives and driving the home forward with a great team committed to the highest standards.

Janette Gray
Lifestyle Lead

I joined Caledonian Court in 2021 after looking for a change of direction in my life – it was the perfect choice. I love being able to lead activities that cater to all residents’ needs, and making sure their days are filled with fun and happiness. Making positive change to residents’ lives is such a rewarding part of my role, getting to know all about peoples’ backgrounds as well as keeping them focussed on the future and striving to achieve personal goals.

In my personal time, I love spending time with my dogs, I enjoy playing golf and I love listening to music.

Brendan Macaulay
Business Administrator

I first started working at Caledonian Court as a Lifestyle Coordinator doing work experience and was offered a weekend job here. Over time I’ve moved into the Business Administrator role, taking on more responsibility. That’s the great thing about Care UK, the organisation supports its colleagues to learn and progress and experience different roles.

The best part of my day is interacting with the residents and their loved ones, that always brightens my day. Each day brings new challenges, which offer more opportunities to learn new things. In this role it’s important to have good tech skills, as well as communication and problem-solving ability. Looking ahead, I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my skills at Caledonian Court, progressing my career and meeting new people along the way.
