At Charlotte House, we spend time getting to know each resident and finding out about their interests and ideas about what they'd like to do each day.
Activity Based Care is an important part of daily life at the home – we encourage residents to take part in everyday tasks that appeal to their abilities and interests. One resident enjoys folding the napkins and tablecloths, while another likes to help those who use wheelchairs into the dining room at mealtimes. We organise lots of one-to-one and group activities and welcome any relatives or friends who'd like to get involved too.
Activities for everyone
Some of our regular activities include flower arranging, drawing, playing board games, singing and visits from professional entertainers. We love to see families get involved by helping with things like our Easter bonnet competition.
We regularly organise celebratory events, so that residents have an occasion to look forward to. For example, in February we celebrate Valentine's Day and in May it's Nurses' Day.
Our location close to the River Thames (100 yards) and the beautiful Syon Park are perfect for friends and relatives to take their loved out for a walk on a sunny day.
Enjoying good food
Mealtimes are always a sociable occasion at Charlotte House and at least once a week we all get together for a coffee morning and an afternoon tea. And a few hours after the evening meal, we always offer residents a supper of a sandwich and whatever drink they’d like us to make.
Services and support
We have twice-weekly visits from a GP and a physiotherapist and a chiropodist visits every six weeks, although if required sooner this can be arranged. We'll happily arrange for any other healthcare appointments that residents need. And to keep everyone feeling and looking good, a hairdresser is available in our salon once a fortnight.
