Gladys Chironga

Home Manager

Gladys Chironga

I’ve been at Clara Court since 2009, when I joined the team as a care assistant.

I joined because Care UK has a clear vision for older people’s care which I believe in. I’m also passionate about providing high quality care and I want to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for.

Another rewarding part of my role is empowering colleagues to ensure that residents live their lives in the way they want. I enjoy engaging and motivating colleagues and seeing them develop and succeed.

Each day is different in this role. I enjoy having the chance to continue learning and developing my skills, and I love spending time with residents, supporting them to continue to live happy and fulfilling lives.

Zineb Soussi
Head Chef

I started working for Care UK in 2006, and I’ve worked as a senior carer and team leader.

I’ve always been passionate about food, and being creative with food, so I made the move to head chef. I love it!

I particularly enjoy going around the home and chatting to residents about what they’re enjoying on the menu, and what else they’d like to try. It’s the best feeling seeing them smiling and looking forward to meal times. I know we’re doing something right.

There’s such a great atmosphere at Clara Court, which is helped by the fact that everyone supports each other to do their best work. Colleagues are happy, residents are happy and relatives too.

Caroline James
Business Administrator

I’ve worked at Clara Court for over ten years.

I first applied to join the home because I’d heard a lot about it. It has a superb reputation. I love that I get to meet a huge variety of people each day, and work with a great team of people to support wonderful residents and relatives.

There’s a special atmosphere and positivity that shines from our colleagues, from the top down. Everyone at Clara Court is treated like part of a family. My own progression to become the home’s business administrator has been possible with the support of the great management and team. So it was fantastic to see our team achieve an ‘outstanding’ in our latest CQC report.

Bailie Coyle-Jones
Regional Canine Relations Manager

My mum, Eileen, adopted me when I was eight weeks old in 2011.

My full name is Bailieboro, after the town in Ireland where Mum comes from. My friends call me Bailie. You can too if you like.

I might have a few years under my collar, but I've discovered a new lease of life since I've been 'on the road' with Mum. Each week, we leave home in South Wales on a Monday and stay in a hotel for a few days so Mum can do her home visits.

I always go with Mum to her homes. I'm loving seeing all the residents and teams in the different care homes, and everyone welcomes me like a VIP. My special talent is to 'break the ice' with new residents and families. I switch on the charm – big smile, tail wagging – and no one can resist me. Instantly, a new person will start chatting to Mum about their dogs and other pets they've had – job done, ice broken! I do one-to-one resident room visits on request too.

I also like to ensure everything's running smoothly by attending home manager and ops director meetings. Don’t tell Mum, but I'm mainly here to keep my eye on her. Well otherwise she'll be jumping out of a plane again!
