At Glastonbury Court care home we’re passionate about helping your loved one to enjoy each day to the full.
Everyone is different, and our team works hard to discover what makes your loved one unique. Our ‘outstanding’ CQC report highlights how there is “a shared ownership and passion across the whole staff team to ensure people enjoyed a fulling life”.
We want to understand your loved one’s health needs, learn about their life stories, their daily routine, their hobbies and interests so that we can give them care that’s as unique as they are.
A care home where residents are independent and active
At Glastonbury Court we understand the importance of socialising, and encourage residents to mix in small, socially distanced groups, where they can relax how they wish or engage in the busy lifestyle programme.
There are lots of popular activities to get involved in at our Bury St Edmunds care home, include gentle exercise to music, games, quizzes and music sessions.
Residents are also enjoying being part of the Postcards of Kindness initiative, and receiving postcards from people all over the world. Residents love replying to the postcards and forming new international friendships. We have a world map on the wall to show where our postcards have come from.
One lady says, “I do all sorts: arts and crafts, baking, quizzes, singing, dancing, film nights. I do a bit of keep fit and gardening in the warmer weather – we have raised beds so I can get stuck in and plant things. It’s great.”
We ensure that people being nursed in bed feel involved too. Colleagues from across the home team will spend time with them doing things they enjoy, whether it’s reading together, listening to music or solving the crossword.
