Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one, and at Gracewell of Newbury our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Activities Lead Coordinator
I've been working at the home since September 2016.

I've been working at the home since September 2016. I managed activities for 18 years in my country of Portugal. I have a degree in Gerontology and for me to work with older people is the best job in the world. Our home is a community where we get to know each other and where families become friends. This is a special and lovely home.

Head Chef
My 'Cheffing' journey started after I gained a City ' Guilds in catering at Farnborough College of Technology, and I started working for the RADC Officers and Sergeants' Mess.

My ‘Cheffing’ journey started after I gained a City & Guilds in catering at Farnborough College of Technology, and I started working for the RADC Officers and Sergeants' Mess. After ten years I decided on a change to Notcutts Garden Centre which then led me to a private residential home in Fleet for another ten years. I have been working here since 2016 and my speciality is making personalised cakes for residents. I love to meet people of all ages, I enjoy visiting different countries and have travelled to many places all over the world. My hobbies are cooking, cycling, dancing, and spending time with my family for days out.

Omowumi Lewal
Clinical Lead Nurse
My journey here started in 2017 after achieving my MSC in Nursing Advanced Leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin.

My journey here started in 2017 after achieving my MSC in Nursing Advanced Leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. I really enjoy working here because it is so well structured, we have a great support system, and the training for Nurses is exceptional. In my spare time, I am a bit of a movie buff! A trip to the cinema or watching a film on Netflix is always enjoyable. Every day here at the home there is a new challenge, but it keeps me on my toes and there is nothing that I wouldn't do for the lovely residents.

I’m Coral Elvin, the Home Admissions Advisor here. I enjoy meeting the lovely residents and colleagues in our home. I am always very impressed by the professionalism, care and empathy shown by the team to residents here. I have also witnessed the strong bonds between them and noted the shared humour and interests. Their determination and courage has inspired me to do the very best I can and to share the wonderful atmosphere here with others.

I have been at Gthe home since 2016, and after all this time I still really enjoy working here.

I have been at Gthe home since 2016, and after all this time I still really enjoy working here. What makes this place wonderful to work are my team, my colleagues, and most of all the residents. I have loved getting to know all the residents as though they are my second family. I enjoy looking after my grandson when I am away at work and when I get a moment's peace, I do always enjoy a good book!

I have been here since September 2016 and I thoroughly enjoy working here.

I have been here since September 2016 and I thoroughly enjoy working here. I love chatting to and interacting with both the residents as well as their relatives. In my spare time, I like to stay active with gym and tennis and I am also learning to play the guitar. This is a special place to work and I feel privileged to be a part of such a great team.

I've been working here since 2016, and even though only working part time, I really enjoy working here and I find it very rewarding.

I've been working here since 2016, and even though only working part time, I really enjoy working here and I find it very rewarding. In my spare time I love walking my two dogs, and I do enjoy a bit of DIY - doing up the house and gardening with my husband. I have two grown up children, one who got married summer of 2019 and it was such a joy to be part of.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.
