Home Manager

Nikki Kelly

Having qualified as a registered nurse in 2000, I bring extensive nursing experience to my role, including 10 years in orthopaedic nursing, working predominantly with older people. This experience has equipped me with the skills and knowledge I draw upon every day at Mount Pleasant, where I work hard to ensure residents lead happy and fulfilling lives while maintaining choice over the care and support they receive. Personal preferences, from waking times and food choices to hobbies and interests, are incorporated into daily routines to create a home-from-home feeling from day one.

I am passionate about delivering great care and firmly believe in the importance of building strong relationships with residents, their relatives, and friends. I understand the valuable contribution these relationships make to creating a happy and successful care home and ensuring Mount Pleasant is a place where residents can live well. I love nothing more than spending time with our residents and getting to know them better.

I look forward to meeting anyone who would like to find out more about our warm and welcoming community and would be delighted to show you around our home.

I have more than 15 years' experience in residential care and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

I am also a Registered Mental Health Nurse, which has given me valuable experience supporting people with a wide range of needs.

What I enjoy most about my role is working alongside residents and colleagues to achieve positive outcomes and make a meaningful difference to people's lives. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and reading.

I have worked in the care sector since 1988 and hold NVQ qualifications in catering and hospitality.

I love interacting with residents, getting to know them and creating enjoyable dining experiences while maintaining the high standards that have contributed to our excellent food hygiene ratings.

Outside of work, I enjoy supporting Derby County, playing crown green bowls and spending time with my husband, daughter Ruby and our dog Daisy.

I have nearly nine years of experience in maintenance and take pride in keeping our home safe, welcoming and running smoothly.

Knowing that my work helps create a comfortable environment for residents and colleagues is what motivates me every day.

Outside work, I enjoy camping, gaming and designing projects with my 3D printer.

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes. 

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
