Our team

Tom Parry

Home Manager

I joined Care UK in 2017 because I heard so much about their training opportunities and the great work ethic. I have been blessed with the most caring team who continue to work hard and support myself and everyone living in Muriel Street care home.

Before I joined Care UK I worked in multiple other health and social care settings. My career started with me working in elderly medicine, then respiratory medicine, up to acute medicine before working my way up to Home Manager. My role requires someone who is caring, understanding of all situations, a good listener and full of confidence.

Seeing the smiles on the residents and the team’s faces is the reason I get out of bed each morning. The laughter that runs through the home whilst providing excellent care is what makes each day great.

Ese Esi

Care & Training Lead

I used to work as a Sales Assistant, however, seeing my grandmother receive care made me want to make a difference in other people’s lives. I achieved my NVQ level 3/5 in Health and Social care and BA in Healthcare Management. I have now been at Muriel Street since 2012 where everyone is still so supportive.

My biggest highlight was working my way up from Team Leader to Unit Manager Care/ Training Lead. My role requires being a good listener, showing kindness to everyone and being a fantastic team player. Each day I love spending time with the residents. I enjoy one-on-one time and listening to their life stories.

Jabulile Hazel Nkosi

Clinical Lead

I knew about Care UK’s great reputation before I joined the organisation, so I was delighted when I was offered the role in 2018. I have a diploma in general nursing, psychiatry, community/midwifery and in education and training. A clinical lead requires real attention to detail, willingness to learn and listen to others and in-depth knowledge of my area of expertise. I love that every day is different and gives me a chance to challenge myself as I work alongside my colleagues.

When I’m not working I love spending time with my daughter and partner. I enjoy going out for meals and watching a good movie.

Zoe Bath

Head Chef

I worked as a second chef in a restaurant before joining Care UK in 2017. I am so proud to have worked my way up to the head chef by transferring my 5 star restaurant experience into the care home. My biggest challenge was learning how to modify diets and creating a diverse menu. But I love when I see the people we provide care are happy and enjoying their food.

I work with such a great team who share a passion for cooking and who bring their patience and understanding to the kitchen. My favourite mealtime is breakfast, when the atmosphere is completely relaxed.

Anthony Poma

Business Administrator

I have worked in many roles in the financial industry over the last decade. However, I have found working in the care industry a great challenge for me and a place where I can grow and develop.

My administrative and managerial skills are very well suited for my position at Muriel Street. The key skills are having good resilience, a positive attitude to learn from your mistakes, and working towards excellence as a team. I enjoy every part of my role and am motivated each day knowing I have made a difference in people’s lives. I see my work as an extension of my own family. I find joy in helping with the people we provide care for and their families.

Fieona Connolly

Lifestyle Lead

I’ve worked for Care UK since 2017 after working as a hotel manager. I joined Muriel Street because I love getting to know the residents and ensuring the activities I do reflect their interests. Being self-motivated and proactive looking for new ideas are crucial for being a lifestyle lead.

I am so proud to be making a difference to the lives of the people we provide care for. Spending time with residents is without a doubt my favourite part of the day. We teach each other so much and I love hearing everyone’s stories, laughing together and seeing how open they are to learning new skills.
