Amberley Lodge has celebrated its ‘outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the highest rating a care home can achieve.
Residents and the team at Amberley Lodge invited the local community to enjoy a party to mark the occasion.
The official ceremony included drinks, tasty canapés, speeches from the team and a plaque unveiling by deputy mayor of Croydon, Humayun Kabir.
The residents and guests were also treated to a performance from Rat Pack era theatre show, ‘Live from Chicago!’, by singer, Daniel Brewerton.
Krystyna Bosko, home manager at Amberley Lodge, said: “We were thrilled that the home had been awarded an ‘outstanding’ CQC rating, and we knew we had to do something special to mark the occasion.
“We all had a brilliant time celebrating our achievement, and it was wonderful to see so many faces from the community raising a glass with us. To achieve such a high rating shows just how committed the team is, and I’m extremely proud of each and every one of them. I would like to say thank you for their hard work and dedication, which I know is also greatly appreciated by residents and their families.”
The report praised Krystyna and her contribution to the care industry, recognising her recent nomination in the ‘registered manager’ category for the Great British Care Awards. It was noted how proud the team were of their work, with residents and their relatives commenting "I would give them a gold star!” and "The care couldn't be this good unless it came from the top".
