Cairdean Care Home recently participated in a coffee morning to help raise money for MacMillan. The event took place at a local community centre at Dreghorn Barracks on Friday 27th September. The coffee morning took place from 10am to 12pm and saw military families, residents and staff of Cairdean take part.
Lynne McLean, Activities Co-Ordinator from Cairdean said:
“It was a lovely morning with homemade cakes. Myself and a colleague made a clootie dumpling, a traditional Scottish cake. A few of the residents and staff were lucky enough to win prizes, whilst helping to raise money for charity.”
Local businesses ran stalls, where they donated a percentage of their takings to MacMillan. They also donated prizes for the raffle, whilst Cairdean staff bought along boxes of chocolates and bottles of wine for the raffle. In total we raised over £300.
