Norfolk House care home on Portmore Road welcomed the people of Weybridge through its doors for an event to celebrate Care Home Open Day.
Norfolk House was one of thousands of care homes across the UK which took part in the annual initiative aimed at challenging perceptions of care homes, connecting residents with even more people in their community, and developing relationships across the generations.
Residents and visitors enjoyed Champagne, tea and homemade cakes at Norfolk House, in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday; and there was live entertainment to help everyone celebrate in style. An art therapy session also proved to be one of the highlights of the day.
Sabu Prothasis, home manager at Norfolk House, said: “Our doors are always open, but Care Home Open Day was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate with visitors, residents and colleagues alike. We all are proud of the warm and welcoming quality care environment we have created here at Norfolk House, and we took great delight in showcasing our home and all the good work we do here.
“The day was a real success, and everyone enjoyed getting involved in the activities and building on our links with the local community.”
