Kingsfield care home in Faversham held its annual Christmas fete for residents on 26th November with members of the public and local companies having stalls for the residents to enjoy.
There was also an entertainer on the day who provided the residents with Christmas songs which they all enjoyed.
The fete had eight stalls in total, and a professional photographer, Scott Kendall who took Christmas pictures for everyone who took part. Stalls varied from Christmas jumpers, jewellery and perfume stalls, but also a raffle which helped the residents raise over £220 for children in need. A particularly popular stall was the Christmas jumper stall which many residents and families bought some great jumpers from, many of which will be worn later in the year for National Christmas jumper day on 16th December.
It was a fantastic opportunity for residents to buy presents and surprise their family members which they may have been previously been unable to do so.
Feedback on the event was fantastic with Paula Spencer, a local CEO of Thannigton Neighbourhood resource centre saying “thank you so much for a brilliant day today, the Christmas Fair went really well and was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. The idea for the stalls as well as the entertainment made a real difference to the day and will hopefully be a regular feature in the future, thank you all for all your hard work to make it a success.”
