Once referred by their GP, patients can be diagnosed, utilising the on-site diagnostic department where necessary, and be pre-assessed in one appointment without the need for multiple visits to the centre.
This new process has been launched by Care UK, the new operator of the centre, and significantly reduces disruption to patients’ daily lives.
Most patients will leave the centre with an appointment date for surgery, if it is required. In addition, by choosing the treatment centre for surgery patients will often have less time to wait.
Patients will be treated in high quality and modern surroundings and their operation is unlikely to be cancelled for non clinical reasons.
The centre will provide a range of NHS services, varying from Endoscopy, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, and Urology.
New general manager, Patricia Warwick, said “It’s great news that the day surgery facility has relaunched and we are able to provide this exceptional service, which can cut down on waiting times and improve the patient experience”.
