Sunningdale Court is calling on the local community to donate baby clothing and equipment to help a Beverley-based charity boost its essential supplies.
On Wednesday 29th May, from 1pm - 3.30pm, Sunningdale Court is hosting a special ‘Baby Shower’ event and is asking local people to drop off any items which could help the cause.
The items will then be donated to the Bundles of Joy charity, that supports babies, children and their families throughout Hull and East Yorkshire.
As part of the home’s commitment to creating a strong link with the local community, the residents at the home are looking forward to supporting the work of the charity.
Linda Portlock, home manager at Sunningdale Court, said: “Here at Sunningdale Court, we’re always looking at ways to get involved and strengthen our local community ties.
“When the team and residents found out about the support Bundles of Joy provides to disadvantaged families, we wanted to help, and so we’re collecting clothing, toiletries, nappies, toys, prams, cots and other essential baby equipment. We’re acutely aware that not every child enjoys the start they should and very few like young Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, so this is a lovely charity that helps local families at a time when they may need it the most.
“If anyone would like to donate to our collection, please do pop into the home on the Wednesday 29th May when we will be warmly receiving donations of new or good quality items, no matter how large or small. We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their donations.”
