Residents and colleagues at Care UK’s care homes across Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall and Stowmarket are calling on the local community to join them for coffee and cake in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Davers Court care home on Shakers Lane in Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall Lodge in St John’s Close, Mildenhall, and Cedrus House on Creeting Road East in Stowmarket will all be opening their doors as part of Macmillan’s national fundraising event, ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, on Friday, September 30.
Cedrus House will be welcoming people from 11am to 3pm with a selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, a raffle and entertainment by local singer Ray Blisset at 2.30pm.
Michelle Webster, home manager at Cedrus House, said: “Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is a flagship fundraising event each year and we’re really looking forward to taking part. Our chef will be baking some delicious cakes for the event and we’ll also have some great entertainment. All are welcome to pop in and help us fundraise as much as we can for Macmillan.”
Davers Court care home will be opening its doors from 10.30am to 12.30pm for the Macmillan coffee morning, and Mildenhall Lodge will be open from 10am to 12noon. Both homes will have a selection of cakes and sweet treats prepared by the homes’ chefs.
