Mar Bitor

Home Manager

Mar Bitor

I’m a registered general nurse with a Level 5 Diploma in Management, and I’ve spent my career focused on delivering the highest standard of care.

Before joining Seacroft Green, I worked as a Home Manager, leading teams and supporting residents to live fulfilled, comfortable lives.

As a manager, patience and understanding are essential – not only for meeting the needs of residents and their families but also for supporting staff to do their best work. I always aim to listen, problem-solve and create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

One of my biggest career highlights was managing a home in Bradford and helping it to turn achieve a ‘Good’ CQC rating, as well as Gold Standards Framework accreditation. It was a proud moment and a real team achievement.

My favourite part of the day is my walkarounds with my dogs, Dexter and Rio. They’re much loved by residents, and it’s wonderful to see how much joy they bring – they never fail to brighten everyone’s day.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing badminton, taking long walks with Dexter and Rio, and going out for a nice meal with friends and family.

Melissa Armitage
Melissa Armitage
Customer Relations Manager

I was drawn to Care UK for its outstanding reputation, its stable, long-standing teams, and its commitment to delivering consistently high-quality care. I have worked in care for more than six years, supporting families and residents as they settle into new homes. Before joining Care UK, I was a Lead Bed Manager at Plans4Rehab.

To do my role well you need empathy, reliability and accountability, along with the drive to provide excellence. I love engaging with residents and their families, listening to their needs and making sure we can support them in the most fulfilling way.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is being able to bring my therapy dog, who I trained myself, to provide comfort and emotional support to residents who may not be able to get out and about.

A highlight of my career so far has been commissioning new homes, raising funds for large charities, and helping individuals rediscover joy in life when they thought it had passed them by.

For me, the most important part of my role is supporting families through a time of crisis with compassion and reassurance, while ensuring a smooth transition into life at Seacroft Grange and Seacroft Green.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my dog. My other passions are keeping fit, cooking and baking.

Kay Hanlon
Kay Hanlon
Head Housekeeper

I’m proud to lead the housekeeping team at Seacroft Green and bring with me a strong background in hospitality and cleaning services. My previous role was as a general manager within the housekeeping sector, and I’ve also trained through the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS).

Strong leadership skills, good communication and a willingness to take on any task are essential for my role. The highlight of my day is always the interactions I have with residents, it’s a real privilege to be part of their daily lives.

Throughout my career, I’ve been proud to achieve several awards and to have run a flagship site. One of the things that makes me proud in my role is receiving positive feedback from residents' families and prospective care seekers about the high standards of cleanliness in the home.

The most important part of my role is ensuring a cohesive team and leading from the front.

Outside of work, I enjoy dog walking, exploring new places to eat and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Amy McHugh

HR Manager

I’m proud to be part of the Seacroft Green care home team. In my role, being approachable, reliable and supportive is essential.

The best part of my day is supporting staff and interacting with residents. It’s rewarding to know that by supporting our Care UK colleagues, we help ensure residents receive the high-quality care they deserve.

I hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification, and before stepping into my current role, I worked as an HR adviser.

One of my biggest career highlights has been achieving my CIPD Level 5 qualification. It’s something I worked hard for and continue to build on in my daily work.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Katie Meston
Katie Meston
Receptionist

I joined Care UK into my receptionist role after working as a carer. That transition has been a highlight in my career so far. I’ve loved taking on a role that allows me to support residents and families in a different way.

My job requires me to be friendly, organised, approachable and empathetic. I enjoy chatting with visitors, and the most rewarding part of my day is delivering newspapers and mail to residents. It’s a small gesture that means a lot to them.

The most important part of my role is being a friendly and welcoming face, often being the first impression people have of the home. I always aim to make that first impression a warm and reassuring one.

What makes me proud in my role is receiving lovely feedback from residents and their visitors. It means a lot to know that I’ve helped make their experience at Seacroft Green a positive one.

Outside of work, I love making memories with my children and travelling as much as I can, whether that’s around the UK or abroad.

Chris Bishop-West
Chris Bishop-West
Head of Maintenance

Before joining Care UK, I worked as a Primary School Caretaker. My role as Head of Maintenance at Seacroft Green keeps me on my toes and no two days are ever the same, each one brings its own challenges and rewards.

To do this role well, you need to be calm under pressure, have strong attention to detail, and be compassionate when engaging with residents. I love the interaction with both residents and staff, it’s what makes my job enjoyable and meaningful.

One of the highlights of my career so far was spreading joy throughout December, bringing smiles to residents and families during the festive season. That sense of connection and community is what makes this role special.

The most important part of my job is ensuring we provide a safe, comfortable environment that residents and families can truly enjoy and feel at ease in.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing and watching cricket, catching live music and tribute acts, and keeping up with other sports.
